POSITION DESCRIPTION

This position will be a leader in the Marketing and Communications team working with key stakeholders across the organization. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in driving and executing integrated marketing plans in the nonprofit and agency sectors. 

  • Lead the development of integrated marketing plans for key focus areas of XPRIZE and areas where we have active prizes. Collaborate with domain leads, prize directors and advancement in development of plans. Develop the budget and create metrics (public relations, digital and community engagement) as part of this process. Manages marketing budgets for each prize in collaboration with the prize director and finance.
  • Oversee marketing metrics and the marketing dashboard (roll-up of marketing key metrics)  in partnership with the Chief Marketing Officer and with other leaders on the marketing team.
  • Collaborates with the CMO and marketing leadership to develop integrated marketing strategies (communications, creative and content and digital) to drive the organization’s business goals. 
  • Responsible for partnering with content, communications, brand and other marketing functions in the creation of integrated marketing strategies.
  • Adept at creating plans, presentations and other materials to showcase marketing efforts.
  • Serves as key relationship manager for prize directors and domain leads on marketing efforts.
  • Manages integrated marketing team which includes integrated marketing managers that are assigned to domains and prizes to execute marketing efforts and plans. Ensures that team members meet objectives. 
  • Manages marketing relationships with sponsors and partners for the domains and prizes and collaborates with them on the development and execution of marketing efforts.
  • Collaborates and strategizes with the Director of Communications on external speaking and thought leadership opportunities. Deep understanding of communications strategies, tactics and trends critical to serving the organization’s needs.
  • Collaborates with event and content teams on prize-related events.
  • Partners with the marketing team on various other projects and initiatives.
  • Understanding of how nonprofits raise funds and report out to donors and sponsors. Collaborates to create strategies to ensure that donors and sponsors are represented in marketing planning.
  • Ability to negotiate and manage non profit partnerships and secure pro-bono media partners to support organization's community and partner engagement strategies.
  • Other duties as assigned.
 

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of both integrated marketing and communications experience including 5 years in a leadership role with experience managing teams.
  • Experience developing marketing plans in both the non-profit and corporate/agency sectors. Understanding of how digital marketing, events, content, community management, marketing and communications come together in an integrated fashion. Proven expertise in integrated marketing planning.
  • Must have a passion for the mission of XPRIZE and the work we are doing to build a better future.
  • Experience leading high performance teams with ability to influence across multiple functions  to get work done.
  • Success creating marketing strategies that drive business results. 
  • Experience managing, coaching and mentoring staff as well as consultants.
  • Experience developing marketing metrics and dashboards.
  • Adept at managing budgets and being resourceful in a nonprofit environment with limited resources..
  • Creative thinker and problem solver.
  • Ability to work in ambiguity and in a fast-paced environment. Comfortable building new systems while executing work. Strong project management and organization skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, influencing and negotiation skills with ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and staff to create a results-driven, team-oriented environment.

The anticipated base salary for this position is $170,000 to $200,000 and may also qualify for an annual incentive. This role is eligible for our extensive benefits package and generous paid time off including vacation, sick, and holidays. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors including the qualifications of the individual applicant, years of relevant experience for the role, level of education attained, and certifications and/or other licenses held. XPRIZE is a remote-first environment.
